A/Prof Peter Royce is Director of Urology, Alfred Health, Senior Consultant Urologic Surgeon at The Alfred and Cabrini hospitals in Melbourne and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Monash University.
He trained in Surgery/Urology in Melbourne and was awarded FRACS (Urology) in 1986. He then completed postgraduate training as Clinical Fellow in Urology at The University of California, Los Angeles USA, and was awarded Fellow American College Surgeons 1993.
He has been in Urology practice since 1987, and is co-founder of the Melbourne Prostate Institute/Brachytherapy Prostate Cancer Clinic at The Alfred, Melbourne.
A/Prof Royce has extensive experience with radical prostatectomy (open and robotic surgery), prostate brachytherapy and high intensity focused ultrasound for the treatment of localised prostate cancer.
He has published articles in peer reviewed Urology journals and presented at numerous scientific meetings and forums, both in Australia and internationally.
He was chairman of the Curriculum Review for the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand surgical training programme and is a member of Andrology Australia Management Group.
Mr Dennis King is a consultant Urologic Surgeon based at The Alfred, Cabrini Private and Epworth Eastern Hospitals in Melbourne.
He is an Adjunct Senior Clinical Lecturer.
He trained in Urologic surgery in New Zealand and Australia. He was awarded a Fellowship in Urology from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon in 2002 and full membership of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Further post fellowship training was undertaken with a urological cancer fellowship in Oxford (England) in 2000 and a laparoscopic surgical fellowship in Basingstoke (England) 2001 and then training in robotic surgery in Los Angeles (USA). He has performed over 450 cases of robotic prostatectomy surgery since 2004.
Mr Dennis King has a special interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for prostate cancer, kidney cancer and renal transplantation. He has published, presented and mentored other Surgeons for these procedures.
Susan is a registered nurse with more than 30 years experience working on a Urology and Gynaecology ward.
Susan's role at Urology Associates includes urological and cancer care, Uroflow studies, provision of pre operative patient education and counselling, surgical aftercare, supportive care and advice for patients receiving hormone therapy injections, patients who self catheterise and those who have urethral or suprapubic catheters.
Urologic surgery is a surgical subspeciality whereby the surgeon is skilled in diagnosing and treating diseases involving the urinary system and the male reproductive system.
Our expertise encompasses all urologic conditions with a special interest in urological cancers such as prostate, bladder and kidney.
